about

Rhythm of The Rubicon is the latest offering from wild pop / improv disco trio SDF. Forged in the nightclubs of Newcastle & now based around the marshes of North East London, SDF comprise of Adam Parkinson (aka Dane Law), Oliver Marchant (aka RKB Vitesse) & quantum physicist Lucy Whalley. This, their third album sees the group reunited after time spent on solo projects and other life matters. Their previous LPs are - Alana (2017, Psykick Dancehall) and Judas (2015, Good Food Tapes)

Rhythm Of The Rubicon was conceived at a PRAH studios residency by the sea. Every day or rather every night stories around such subjects as the yellow vest protests, the fall of Caesar, future energy collapse & synthetic sugar substitutes are set to machine drums, lysergic synthesisers & sub heavy basslines whilst Oliver & Lucy blend storytelling with dubbed-out mantras to the coming night.

SDF is friends playing their relationship to each other & to time. SDF is machine folk. SDF is a vision glimpsed in a mist. SDF is a state of mind. SDF is a way of life.

SDF will be launching the album at Iklectik, London on August 27th. Further gigs TBA.
